C.D. Leganés has reached an agreement with the F.C. Porto for the transfer of 22-year-old footballer Federico Nicolás Varela. The Argentine midfielder with Spanish nationality played last season in Rayo Majadahonda. Signs until 2021 and will be under the orders of Mauricio Pellegrino starting on July 4th.
Varela began his football career in the lower divisions of Celta and Stade Nyonnais, signing in 2015 for the F.C. Porto. For the second team of the Portuguese side he played 70 games, scoring 16 goals. In the 2017/18 season, the young player was on loaned to Portimonense, in the Portuguese First Division, and last season was on loan at Rayo Majadahonda, playing 37 games and scoring three goals and giving five assists.
The player, after passing the medical examinations in the morning today, joined the first training of the season in the Instalación Deportiva Butarque. The presentation will be announced soon.
