As if it was today… eight years ago Leganés got a vital win at Toledo (1-2) that allowed the team to stay with options to remain on Segunda División 'B'. De Lerma’s and Mario’s goals gave three more points for the pepineros on Víctor Fernández’s debut as coach.

Leganés was occupying relegation spots on the league with just 4 remaining matches for the end of the season. Víctor was the chosen to assume as the team’s coach after retiring from playing as a professional player, he replaced José María Rico. His first initial squad was: Rubén Falcón, Marco Navas, Mario, Biel Medina, Jesús Álvaro, David López, De Lerma, Tonino, Chupe, Vicente and Rubén Navarro. Canario, Javi Ballesteros and Bayón also played during the match.

Just before half time Leganés managed to take the lead after a shoot by De Lerma. Mario increased the lead on second half with a header after Canario´s cross. Toledo would score after through Aguirre adding suspense to the match until the end of it.

Leganés got an important win on their fight to keep the category. The team continued to be ranked on relegation spot for the next matchday.
