As if it was today… four years ago Leganés took back Segunda División’s leadership after winning against Real Sociedad (4-0) at Butarque. Asier Garitano’s team performed one of the best matches of the season and took back the leadership after Alavés’ draw.

The pepineros played against at home after a difficult win at Mallorca. The team’s initial squad was: Serantes, Víctor Díaz, Mantovani, Insua, César Soriano, Sastre, Timor, Omar Ramos, Gabriel, Szymanowski, and Guillermo. Toni Dovale, Asdrúbal and Bustinza played on second half.

Serrantes managed to save the pucelanos’ first goal occasion. After that Guillermo scored the first goal for the pepineros through a header after an Omar’s cross. Guillermo also assisted Gabriel to score the second goal (2-0) before the end of the first half.

Lluís Sastre scored the third goal via free kick surprising Kepa Arrizabalaga. Szymanowski scored the last goal after an amazing play by Gabriel Pires who chipped the ball to assist his teammate.

It was a great afternoon at Butarque for the locals who would face the nine remaining matches as the league´s leaders.
