C.D. Leganés manager, Asier Garitano, appeared before a press conference after his game this Sunday in Anduva against C.D. Mirandés, which finished 2-1 in favour of the visitors thanks to goals from Bautista and Javi Hernández. The coach described it as a crucial win for the team over a tough opponent.
Asier summed up the encounter as such: "The objective was to get a consecutive win to let us begin to move out of the relegation zone and to improve the mood. We had a great start which was rewarded with a superb goal, there was the second too but it wasn't quite there and then things got more complicated. They equalised the game, were dominant for a while in the first half but we exercised a lot more control in the second half. We made it 2-1 and it's a crucial win for us".
The pepinero coach gave his thoughts on the sequence that led to their second goal: "There was a penalty in the keeper's challenge on Doukouré, but I imagine they let the play develop. Cheick isn't so happy". Garitano went on to underline the importance of getting the three points: "Mirandés are a successful team, they generate a lot of chances. We were good out of the gate with a goal and Jon's second chance, but they adjusted and improved quickly. They made us suffer with the equaliser. But in the second half we gave ourselves more outlets to counter and got the winner, which was a relief. We knew how to protect the scoreline until the final whistle in what was an important game for us".
