The coach of C.D. Leganés, Borja Jiménez, appeared this Friday at the press conference prior to the match that the team will play on Sunday (14:00) at Butarque against Real Betis Balompié, corresponding to the twenty-eighth round of LALIGA EA SPORTS.
The coach, regarding the rival, valued their great form: “They are the second best team so far in the second half of the season and have world-class players. You know what I think of Isco, he has a very high level. But we face the match with all the guarantees, we know it will be a complex game, but our permanence depends on everything we have to go through. Here, with our people, we are going for everything”.
The coach also ruled out that Betis' European match will influence them: “They are high-level squads, used to playing non-stop. I don't think it has anything to do with it. Our objective is clear, to arrive on May 25, when the referee blows the final whistle, and to be out of the relegation places. We depend on ourselves.
Regarding the team's current situation, Jiménez highlighted the morale after the match in Vigo: “We left with the feeling that we deserved more, but we know that away from home it is difficult for all of us who are there. It has been a positive week of training, although we have some players with injuries and we will see who we can count on”.
Finally, the coach analyzed the keys to the match: “We have to be a team capable of defending away from our goal. Betis is the team that uses the most width, separating players a lot to leave space for players like Isco and Fornals. We must defend at our best and know how to find the balance between attacking and protecting. It's going to be a match of very high performance”.
