C.D Leganés won against Real Oviedo at Estadio Municipal Butarque (2-1) for the eighth matchday of LaLiga SmartBank. Gaku Shibasaki and Borja Bastón scored for the pepineros. Obeng scored on added time for Oviedo.
José Luis Martí made two changes to the starting line-up compared to the team that played against Real Zaragoza: Rubén Pardo and Sabin merino got into the pitch replacing Dani Ojeda and Santos. C.D Leganés looked for the goal from the beginning and had its first occasion in the 5th minute through Sabin Merino but Brazao stopped it. Arnaiz had another chance but could not kick it well.
First half without goals. Heavy rain and wind
Real Oviedo also had their chance with a cross kick by Obeng. Rubén Pardo also tried with a header stopped by Brazao. It was a first half with a lot of wind and rain that made it difficult for the players to perform in the best way. Half time without any goals scored.
José Luis Martí refreshed the attack by sending Santos who replaced Sabin Merino. The Uruguayan started with speed and sent the ball into the area to Gaku who beat Brazao. It was the first goal of the match and the first goal for Gaku with C.D Leganés.
Shibasaki and Borja Bastón scored on the second half
Martí made his second substtution in the 69’: Luis Perea replaced José Arnaiz in the midfield. Bustinza and Eraso replaced Rubén Pardo and Shibasaki in the last quarter of the match. C.D Leganés continued solid and looked for counterattacks to score the second goal which arrived in the 86’ through Borja Bastón who used a rebound created by Santos. Second goal for Borja in the league.
Real Oviedo shortened the distance after a header by Obeng. There was no more time and C.D Leganés reached its third consecutive win. The pepineros have now 15 points and their next match will be on Thursday (21:30h) against C.E Sabadell at Nova Creu Alta.
