C.D. Leganés earned a point on their visit to Deportivo Alavés in Mendizorroza (1-1), in a match corresponding to the fifteenth round of LALIGA EA SPORTS. Óscar gave Los Pepineros the lead midway through the second half, while Carlos Vicente equalised for Deportivo Alavés in the closing stages.
Leganés made four changes to their line-up compared to last time out, with Rosier, Óscar, Raba and Diego coming on in place of Alti, Munir, Miguel and Brasanac, the latter dropping out of the eleven at the last minute due to discomfort during the warm-up.
The home side started intensely, with Carlos Martín's first shot being blocked for a corner by Dmitrovic. After the first quarter of an hour, Borja Jiménez's men were trying to threaten the Blue and Whites' goal, with a Javi Hernández shot from the left that the defence turned behind for a corner and two attempts from Raba that were blocked by the defence.
Tapia and Rosier had the best chances for Lega in an evenly matched first half.
In the 17th minute came Lega's first big chance, with Tapia's close-range header from Juan Cruz's cross being saved by Sivera with a great save. The game levelled out after the home side's impetuous start, and in the 31st minute Leganés had another chance after a great run by Raba, who played in Rosier, whose shot was deflected behind for a corner by Sivera just as the goal was about to be scored.
Diego's work to pin down the centre-backs was taken advantage of by Raba, Óscar and Juan Cruz, but the last of the first half belonged to Alavés, with Carlos Vicente's shot going narrowly wide. With the score at 0-0, the game went to the break.
Óscar, with a header from Raba's assist, gave Lega the lead in the 67th minute.
The second half started without changes, with another clear-cut goal for Lega in another great action by Raba that neither Óscar nor Diego could finish. Alavés responded with a shot from Mouriño from a corner in the 52nd minute that Dmitrovic made a safe save. In the 62nd minute, Borja Jiménez made his first change, bringing on Miguel de la Fuente, applauded by the Mendizorroza crowd on his return to Vitoria, in place of Juan Cruz, with Óscar moving to the left and the team playing with two strikers.
In the 67th minute it was to be 0-1: Óscar rode through the central lane, opening up the right for Raba, who caracoleaba in the area and put it to the far post so that, once again, Óscar appeared to head into the back of the net and put the 0-1 with his first goal of the season to the joy of the four hundred pepineros who had travelled to Vitoria.
Carlos Vicente, in the 87th minute, equalised for Alavés.
In the 76th minute, another Pepinero change, with Chicco coming on for an exhausted Dani Raba, who played a great game, including an assist. And in the 81st minute, Jorge Sáenz replaced Diego García to reinforce the defence against the home side's attacks. However, Alavés equalised in the 87th minute with a long-range shot from Carlos Vicente that Dmitrovic could do nothing about. The home side pressed in the final stages in search of a comeback, but Lega defended well and secured an important point that takes them to 15 points.
The next game for Los Pepineros is next Sunday (14:00) at Butarque against Real Sociedad.
