C.D. Leganés beat Villarreal 'B' in Butarque (1-0), in a match corresponing to the 36th matchweek of LaLiga SmartBank. Karrikaburu, on the stroke of half-time, scored the only goal of the match, which gives Lega its second consecutive victory.
Carlos Martínez made his debut in Butarque as head in his second match as first team coach with three changes compared to his debut at El Toralín: Sergio González, Rubén Pardo and Fede Vico came on in place of Allan Nyom, Jorge Sáenz and Gaku Shibasaki. Leganés had the first chance in minute 6, with a goal that neither Karrikaburu nor Rubén Pardo were able to convert into a goal. In minute 11, the visitors responded with an action in which Riesgo saved from Millán.
Karrikaburu, in the 45th minute, gave Lega the lead in his first goal as pepinero
Another clear goal occasion for Lega in minute 18, in an individual action by Narváez, who faced the goal, but his shot went near the left post. In minute 25, the yellow reserve team responded through Millán, whose lob against Riesgo didn't find the target. In minute 30, it was Lega who had another chance, when Narváez's cross was deflected by Dela and almost went in.
In minute 40, Rubén Pardo tried from the front with his left foot, but it went slightly over. In 45', the goal was to come: an individual action by Karrikaburu, who turned in front of the goal and connected an unstoppable left-footed shot for Iker Álvarez: it was the 1-0 and the first goal of the forward from Navarre with the Leganés shirt. With the advantage pepinera reached the break.
The Pepineros had the chance to win the game and Riesgo saved the victory with a terrific save in the added time.
The second half started without changes, with a first chance in 52' for Fede Vico and another one a minute later for Cissé that went just wide of the post. Good minutes for a Lega that was looking for the second, supported by the push of Butarque. In minute 55, it was Narváez who hit the post after a great assist from Fede Vico. On the hour mark, Carlos Martínez made his first substitution, bringing on José Arnaiz in place of Rubén Pardo.
Karrilkaburu again came close to scoring in the 65th minute with a left-footed shot that went just wide of the post. In minute 68, the Pepeños made a triple substitution, with Jorge Sáenz, Gaku and Raba replacing the injured Sergio González, Neyou and Fede Vico. In minute 75', Lega used up changes, with Qasmi coming on in place of Narváez. The second goal didn't come, and in the end, Lega had to suffer to keep the three points: in minute 91, Riesgo made a saving save to deflect Ontiveros' shot to the crossbar.
There was no time for more, and Leganés added their second consecutive victory to move up to 46 points. The next match for the pepineros will come next Sunday (21:00) at Mendizorroza against Deportivo Alavés.
