C.D. Leganés and Valencia C.F. closed on Monday a definitive agreement for the transfer of Jorge Sáenz. The 26-year-old center-back from Tenerife, who played on loan at the Pabellon team last season, signs until 2025 as a Blue and Whites' player.
Trained in the youth academy of C.D. Tenerife, Jorge Sáenz made his debut with the first team in LaLiga SmartBank in the 2014/15 season, at the age of eighteen. His youth and good performances caught the attention of several LaLiga Santander clubs, with Valencia C.F. acquiring his services in the summer of 2019. During the next two seasons he defended the shirt of R.C. Celta, debuting with the Vigo team in the First Division.
After playing for Marítimo in the Portuguese First Division and C.D. Mirandés, Jorge Sáenz arrived last summer at Butarque on loan. From the beginning, the former Spanish U-21 international became one of the pillars of the Pepinera backline, finishing the season with 38 games played and being the second most used player in the squad in terms of minutes, only behind Jorge Miramón.
With his arrival, already in property for the next two seasons, Leganés ensures the presence of a central defender who dominates the aerial game, with leadership skills and with a good exit of the ball from the back. Jorge will start training this Tuesday under the orders of Borja Jiménez.
