C.D. Leganés presents its new first kit for the 2023/24 season. Inspired by the team that won the first promotion in the club's history to professional soccer, which will be thirty years ago this June 27th, it recovers a traditional design with details and numbers in red.
Under the slogan 'The first times are engraved in the heart', the club wants to pay tribute to the team of the 1992/93 season, which achieved promotion to the Second Division for the first time in the history of C.D. Leganés and put the city on the map of professional soccer. That team, coached by Luis Ángel Duque, was promoted at the Rodríguez de Miguel stadium, exactly thirty years ago, on June 27, 1993.
A shirt that recovers the wide stripes, the embroidered shield and the red numbers.
Three decades later, the club presents its new jersey, inspired by the one from that time. Recovering the design of wide stripes and the shade of blue that the team wore that season, it also incorporates the polo collar, embroidered shield and also recovers the red numbers of that season. The red color is also present in the details of the sleeves and in the Joma logo.
For its presentation, the club wanted to bring together players from the current squad with others from that historic team. Jorge Miramón, Iker Undabarrena, Sergio González, Seydouba Cissé and Allan Nyom shared a session with José Luis Dorado, Jesús de Jesús 'Chuso', José Jesús Mesas, Ángel Vivar Dorado and David Díaz-Guerra, as well as Luis Ángel Duque, to create a historic photo.
The first fifty purchases will be able to get a commemorative poster.
An image that can be obtained in the form of an exclusive poster for the first fifty fans who purchase the shirt, on sale from Tuesday 27 June at the official club store, located at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, or in the online store.
As for the fabric, it has been made from 100% recycled polyester to minimize the impact on the environment. MICRO-MESH SYSTEM technology has been included in the underarms and sides, the areas where moisture accumulates the most. This allows the player's body to stay dry even during peak performance. Each piece has been joined using the FLATLOCK system of flatlock seams, which prevents chafing and provides elasticity and freedom of movement.
C.D. Leganés and Joma have reaffirmed their commitment to caring for the environment by making the elastic 100% recycled polyester. Most of the kits manufactured by the brand already use this fabric. It is made from recycled sources, especially PET bottles, which are converted into raw material. This reduces CO2 emissions by 75% and avoids the use of petroleum.
