Match preview: C.D Leganés opens the season at Butarque this Saturday against U.D Las Palmas

C.D Leganés starts a new season on the silver category with the hope of performing and getting to fight for their objective at the end of the season. A team with renewed energies and José Luis Martí on the bench will have their first test against the grancanarios. The white and blues have played four preseason friendly matches with a balance of two wins, one draw and one loss.

Leganés begins the season with seven new signings (Riesgo, Diego Conde, Sergio González, Luis Perea, Shibasaki, Róber Ibáñez and Borja Bastón) and the return of other nine players after finishing their loans at other clubs (Kravets, Mejías, Dani Ojeda, Fede Varela, Facundo García, Raúl Sánchez, José Arnaiz, Sabin Merino and Juan Muñoz) and also counting with Javier Avilés as full time player for the first team.

U.D Las Palmas seeks to start the season with a win

On the other side, U.D Las Palmas starts their third consecutive season in the category with the objective of improving after finishing nineth on the last campaign, four points away from promotion playoff positions. Pepe Mel’s team ended their preseason with a win (1-3) against C.D Tenerife last weekend and is looking to start with three points.

The amarillos have reinforced their lines with players such as Cardona, Ale Díez, Loiodice, Sergio Ruiz, Óscar Clemente, Pejiño and Róber González. They count with the former pepineros’ captain Martín Mantovani, the foreign player with most matches in the club’s history when he was part of the team between 2013 and 2018.
