Rubén Pardo: “I have a tremendous illusion and desire to work”

C.D Leganés has officially presented the midfielder Rubén Pardo. The player will wear the 25 jersey and was excited about his new challenge after arriving on loan from Girondins de Bordeaux.

C.D Leganés’ sports director started the presentation event by thanking Rubén Pardo for his commitment to join the club: “Sometimes insistence pays-off. We have had market windows in which we wanted to have him with us, but it could not happen. His commitment was total on a moment we did not expect it. He has shown us his will and excitement to be here and we are thrilled to have him as our new attacking midfielder. He has played almost two hundred games with Real Sociedad and last year went to Girondins. We hope the Rubén-C.D Leganés marriage lasts for many years.

“It is an important challenge in my career. Leganés is a big club”

Rubén Pardo thanked the pepineros’ interest to have him within its lines and was excited about his arrival: “I thank all the club for their effort in bringing me here. It is a big challenge in my career. I come with high hopes and a tremendous desire to work. I am happy, I have recovered my enthusiasm for playing football and the feeling of being important. I want to help the team on an ambitious project, let us hope I can last here for many years”.

He praised his new club: “Leganés is a big club with first division structure and facilities. I come to use my experience and skills to help the team to return to the place it deserves. I had other offers, but this was the most exciting project”.

“I will try to give my best since the first minute for this crest”

Pardo recognized that he was offered to be part of the club before: “There was some interest before, but it could not happen. I will try to give my best since the first minute for this crest. I want to play football, and this is a thrilling project”.

At the end he was asked about what his role will be on the pitch: “I do not mind if we play with two attacking midfielders or if I play alone above the defensive midfielders. The coach is the one to decide and I will adapt to what he decides to help the team”.
