The former team manager of the senior C.D. Leganés squad, Sergio Agulló, will no longer continue working with the club. The Ferrolano, who had served as team manager for the last nine years, took the decision independently to depart from the club, with Friday's fixture against Huesca to be his last with the team.
Agulló first joined the club in the summer of 2012, after Pablo Alfaro's arrival to the Butarque sideline. Thereafter, he continued his duties as team manager under Asier Garitano, Mauricio Pellegrino, Javier Aguirre, José Luis Martí, Garitano again and finally Mehdi Nafti, with this current season being his tenth consecutive year with the club.
Through some of the club's most important moments in its 93 year history
Sergio lived and worked through some of the most important milestones in the 93 year history of C.D. Leganés, including the promotions to both Segunda and Primera División in 2014 and 2016 as well as the 2018 semi-final of the Copa del Rey. The club, the squad, coaching body and all of its staff, said their final goodbye on Tuesday. Sergio deserves the best in this next stage of his life and career; we thank him for his manner and professionalism everyday throughout these nine years, which have made him a key part of the Pepinera family. Héctor Fajardo, reserve side team manager, will step up to continue his duties with the first team, having accompanied the team during their last few matches.
