Borja Jiménez: ‘It hurts us because I think we deserved to win, but this makes us stronger and will help us’.

The C.D. Leganés coach appeared at a press conference after Saturday's match against Real Madrid.

C.D. Leganés coach Borja Jiménez attended a press conference this Saturday after the match between the team and Real Madrid C.F. at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, corresponding to the twenty-ninth round of LALIGA EA SPORTS, and which ended in a 3-2 victory for Real Madrid.

The coach evaluated the match as follows: ‘Well, it's a bad feeling, because I think we had enough merit to win here today. We had to deal with everything that happened during the match, which was against us at all times. We're annoyed, because the team has had three weeks in which it deserved much more in terms of results’.

Despite the defeat, Borja was optimistic about his team's work: 'No, I would be worried if I saw the team in a different way. I think we are doing well and football is going to give it back to us, one way or another'.

Regarding the refereeing decisions, the coach admitted his anger, although he reiterated his confidence in the referees: ‘Well, I'm not going to do that. Let's see if we get lucky with the draws. As I said on Friday, those of us who are down there have little right to complain. I have a lot of confidence in the referees, but we were unlucky again this time’.

Borja also highlighted the effort of his players against a high level opponent: ‘We knew that we were facing one of the contenders for the title along with Barcelona. Only Atlético and Barça have won here, and we came very close. It hurts us because I think we deserved to win, but this strengthens us and will help us. I told the lads: the way forward is the weeks of training. The team wants to, they're going to fight for it and, as I always say, it's going to be decided in the last five weeks, depending on ourselves’.
