The Plaza Mayor of Leganés welcomed thousands of people from Leganés to celebrate a historic day.

The city of Leganés took to the streets this Monday to celebrate with its team the historic promotion to the First Division achieved on Sunday. Thousands of Leganés residents enjoyed a street parade through the streets of the city, which culminated in a packed Plaza Mayor.

At 7:00 p.m., the players, coaching staff and staff departed Butarque in an open-top bus on a route that passed through several key points in Leganés, such as Avenida de Fuenlabrada, the “cabezones” traffic circle, Avenida de la Universidad and Calle Santa Rosa before heading towards Plaza Mayor, where thousands of people awaited their idols.

After a reception at the City Hall with the mayor of the city, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, and the municipal corporation, it was time for the players to take to the stage to delight the fans. Julián Chicco, Diego Conde and Dani Jiménez were the hosts of the event, in which president Jeff Luhnow and coach Borja Jiménez also took the floor to thank the fans for their support throughout the year.
