C.D. Leganés goalkeeper Diego Conde managed to break the unbeaten record for a C.D. Leganés goalkeeper in professional football last Sunday. The goalkeeper from Madrid has now gone 539 minutes without conceding a single goal, beating the previous record held by Raúl Arribas and Iván Cuéllar.
Since Curro scored for Burgos in the first minute of the ninth matchday match at El Plantío on 4 October, the Leganés goal has remained clean sheet. After that match came the draw against Real Oviedo (0-0), and then Leganés went on to string together four consecutive LALIGA victories against Amorebieta (6-0), Espanyol (0-1), Villarreal 'B' (1-0) and Cartagena (0-3), to which must be added the cup match against Llerenense (0-2), in which Dani Jiménez was in charge of defending the Blue and Whites' goal.
Dani Barrio holds the absolute record with 848 minutes unbeaten in Segunda División 'B'.
In total, 539 consecutive minutes for Diego Conde without conceding a goal in LALIGA, the best record ever for Leganés in First or Second Division. Until now, the record stood at 508 minutes without conceding for Raúl Arribas, in the 1999/00 season in the silverware category, and Iván Cuéllar in the 2017/18 campaign, in Primera División.
The club's all-time clean sheet record of 848 consecutive minutes without conceding, held by Dani Barrio since the 2013/14 season, when Leganés were in Segunda División 'B', is still a long way off.
