CD Leganés launches a campaign to raise awareness of testicular cancer: ‘Tenemos un par’ (‘We have a pair’)

This initiative, named with the claim ‘Tenemos un par’ (We have a pair), will be visible in the next match against FC Barcelona, where the Blue and Whites players will take the field with the logo of the association on their testicular area.

C.D. Leganés, in collaboration with the Testicular Cancer Society and FP7 McCann Dubai, is leading an exclusive campaign to raise awareness about testicular cancer. This initiative named with the slogan ‘Tenemos un par’ (We have a pair) will be visible in the next match of the team against FC Barcelona, where the players will take the field with the logo of the association in the testicular area.

This disruptive action is integrated into testicular cancer awareness month. One in every 250 men suffers from this disease, but almost none of them get checked regularly. So the club has decided to use its media loudspeaker to raise awareness so that men can pay attention to their health as well.

The founder of the Testicular Cancer Society, Michael Craycraft, was delighted to be able to carry out this campaign, "This will be the second most effective second in the history of testicular cancer awareness. We have been trying to start this conversation for years. With this action I am sure we will succeed because in an instant millions of people will be able to raise awareness. We have turned a taboo into a triumph" he said.

For his part, the captain of C.D. Leganés, Sergio González, also showed his support for the action: “Football gives us a unique voice. Some teammates didn't know how to self-explore before this campaign. I think that both the players and the club have had a couple, and if this manages to save a life it is worth more than any title," said the captain.
