C.D. Leganés earned a point in their 19th LALIGA HYPERMOTION match against C.D. Eldense (1-1). Raba, from the penalty spot, gave Los Pepineros the lead, while Sergio Ortuño, with a great goal, equalised for the visitors.
Leganés came out with two changes in the line-up compared to the last league game, with Nyom returning to the team at right-back and Portillo in midfield, while Chicco and Miguel were left on the bench. Lega started the game well, with the first clear chance for Diego García in the 4th minute, who crossed too wide from Miramón's cross. Shortly after, it was Nyom and Raba who tried their luck in the first ten minutes without finding the back of the net.
In the 15th minute it was Neyou who almost made it 1-0 after a set piece in which Nyom extended the ball to the far post, but again the visitors' defence cut it out in extremis. Eldense tried to equalise with a first set-piece from former Pepeño player Timor that Diego Conde had to save with difficulty, while in the 22nd minute it was Raba who tried with a cross header from Nyom's cross.
Goal and injury for Raba, while Sergio Ortuño equalised before the break.
Again Raba in the 24th minute found Aceves, whose rebound was headed in by Portillo, albeit offside. Another one for Lega came from Diego in the 30th minute, but it went just wide of the left-hand post of the Eldense goal. Raba was brought down in the box and Guzmán Mansilla awarded a penalty, which Raba himself converted to make it 1-0 with his seventh goal of the season.
The Cantabrian had to retire injured after suffering an ailment just as the penalty was taken, and was replaced by Naïs Djouahra to a standing ovation from Butarque. However, Eldense equalised in the 42nd minute when Sergio Ortuño's long-range effort made Diego Conde's save impossible. With the score level at half-time, the game went into the break.
A second half was a difficult one, with no real success
The second half kicked off with no further changes in the Lega team, who tried to penetrate the visitors' five-man defence after the tactical change at half-time. On the hour mark, Lega made another change with Miguel de la Fuente coming on for the injured Miramón. The Blue and Whites were unable to create any danger in a second half in which there were fewer chances in the area than in the first forty-five minutes.
In the 80th minute, Óscar Ureña came on as part of Borja Jiménez's final substitution, replacing Portillo in search of more depth on the wing. However, Lega were to get a scare with a shot against the post from Soberón in one of the few arrivals to the visitors' area in the second half. Leganés tried, but were unable to find Aceves' goal in the final stretch, and had to settle for a draw.
A new point that leaves Leganés with 37 points, still at the top of the table after the nineteenth matchday. The next game for the pepineros will come next Saturday (18:30) in Gijón against Real Sporting.
