Leganés beats Elche and is proclaimed champion of LALIGA HYPERMOTION 2023/24 (2-0).

C.D. Leganés achieved a historic promotion to the First Division at Butarque. A day to remember in which the pepineros beat Elche C.F. (2-0) thanks to goals from Miguel and Juan Cruz in the first half. The Blue and Whites also became champions of LALIGA HYPERMOTION 2023/24.

Leganés came out with only one change in their eleven compared to the match seven days ago, with Juan Cruz replacing Diego García, who was waiting for his turn on the bench this time. In the middle of a packed Butarque, with more than 12,000 spectators beating the club's historical attendance record, Leganés took the lead in the 10th minute thanks to a shot by Miguel de la Fuente, unstoppable for Dituro, which brought madness to the stands with the 1-0 that put the Pepineros in the lead.

Elche tried to recover by dominating possession of the ball, against a Lega that was looking to take advantage of the spaces. Elche had their chance in 32', with a shot by Mendoza from a corner that didn't find the net. But, just before the break, the second was to come: a play by Miguel on the left, who passed to Cissé, who extended the ball for Juan Cruz to beat Dituro with his left foot to make it 2-0. With the Blue and Whites' advantage, the game went to the break.

Butarque celebrated the title at the half-time whistle.

The second half started without changes for Lega, with a good option from Juan Cruz in minute 62 that went just wide of the post. The '11' and Miguel were the first changes made by Borja Jiménez, who brought on Raba in attack and Diego García in his place. Shortly after, Undabarrena replaced Portillo, who left to a standing ovation from the stands. The three had the chance to score the third, but Dituro saved.

Even so, the party was complete at Butarque. In stoppage time, Borja Jiménez brought on Dani Jiménez and Nyom in place of Diego Conde and Neyou. Real Valladolid's defeat in Tenerife also meant that the Pepineros finished the season as champions of LALIGA HYPERMOTION 2023/24.

Butarque was in full party mode, with the team cheering one by one as they were presented before collecting the champions' trophy. We are back in LaLiga EA Sports!
