C.D. Leganés earned a hard-earned point in their visit to Real Valladolid at the Estadio José Zorrilla (0-0). The home side had their clearest chance in the first half with Moro hitting the crossbar, while in the second half Óscar and Roberto López had the clearest chances for Lega, who remain unbeaten.
Leganés took to the pitch at José Zorrilla with four changes to their line-up compared to the win against Las Palmas at Butarque: Jorge Sáenz, Franquesa, Chicco and Juan Cruz came on in place of Arambarri, Brasanac, Óscar and Raba, who were waiting their turn on the bench this time.
Moro had the clearest chance for Valladolid in an evenly matched first half.
Valladolid started strongly, with a first chance for Amath in the first action of the match that went narrowly wide. Lega responded with a long-range effort from Neyou in the 6th minute that failed to find the target. The game was evenly matched with both teams trying to reach the rival area, Lega spurred on by the five hundred pepineros who packed the away section of the Valladolid stadium.
After a few minutes with no chances, in the 36th minute the home side had a chance when Moro's shot hit the top of the crossbar. The Blue and Whites, wearing their third kit in black on Wednesday, tried to reach Hein's area without success, against a Valladolid side that pressed in the final stretch of the first half, but without really putting Juan Soriano in trouble. With the initial 0-0 score at half-time.
Óscar, who came on after the break, tried from distance to put the ‘uy’ in the stands.
The second half started with the first change by Borja Jiménez, who brought on Óscar in place of Franquesa, who was cautioned during the first forty-five minutes. The talaverano was placed in the attacking midfield, with Juan Cruz moving to the left wing. In the 54th minute, both were on the verge of a successful combination, but the local defence cleared the ball in extremis. The game opened up in the 60th minute, with chances in both areas, bringing the ‘uy’ to the stands.
Óscar tried his luck from long range in the 61st minute with a shot that went just wide of the left post. In the 65th minute, two more changes for Lega, with Brasanac and Roberto López coming on for Cissé and Juan Cruz. And in the 70th minute it was Munir who made his debut as a Pepinero, replacing Chicco, playing his first minutes in a Lega shirt.
Roberto López and Óscar himself were the main characters in the last Pepineros' attempts.
Leganés stretched in the final stretch, coinciding with the introduction of Renato Tapia in midfield in place of Neyou. Roberto López had a left-footed shot that went out for a corner, and shortly afterwards Óscar had another free-kick that was saved by Hein. Latasa had the last chance for Valladolid with a header that went high.
Another point for Leganés, who now have five points after the first three matchdays, remaining unbeaten in their return to LALIGA EA SPORTS.
