C.D. Leganés and Sevilla F.C. have reached an agreement for the transfer of 32-year-old Serbian goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic. The Balkan international, with extensive LALIGA experience, signs for the 2024/25 season, with an option for a second.
Dmitrovic came through the youth ranks at Red Star Belgrade, before moving on to Hungarian club Ujpest and British club Charlton Athletic before moving to Spain after joining A.D. Alcorcón. With the ‘alfareros’ he soon became indispensable, playing a key role in the two seasons he spent in the yellow jersey, between 2015 and 2017.
His great performances attracted the attention of LALIGA EA SPORTS clubs, with S.D. Eibar finally acquiring his services. He again became a regular starter in the Armeros' goal, with more than 130 appearances in his four seasons at Ipurua, in which, in addition to his saves, he scored a goal by converting a penalty in a match against Atlético de Madrid.
Experience in LALIGA, in European competitions and two World Cups behind him.
In 2021, he took a further step in his career by becoming a player with Sevilla F.C., where he has played the last three seasons, winning the UEFA Europa League title in 2023 and also playing in the Champions League last season.
At international level, Dmitrovic has been capped at all levels for Serbia, making his debut for the senior national team in 2017, for whom he has played nineteen games. The new Pepinero goalkeeper has two World Cup appearances to his name, as he was present at Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022.
Dmitrovic will join Borja Jiménez's training sessions on Tuesday and will wear the number 13 shirt.
