C.D. Leganés were unable to win their 28th LALIGA EA SPORTS match against Real Betis (2-3). Raba, with a first-half brace, gave Pepineros the lead, but Isco, with a penalty, Bakambu and Cucho Hernández pulled one back for the visitors.
Leganés came out on the field with two changes to their line-up compared to the last league game, with Darko Brasanac and Dani Raba returning to the eleven in place of Óscar and Diego García, who was out of the squad with injury. The game started with a first chance for Betis in the opening minutes when Abde's boots were saved by Dmitrovic. Lega were playing in a back four, with Tapia in front of the back four and Raba as the man in front.
Raba's brace gave Leganes the lead at half-time
On the quarter hour mark, the first dangerous approach from the Pepineros came with a dangerous cross from Javi Hernández that Raba couldn't head in from close range. Javi himself, in the 22', tried his luck with a low left-footed shot that Adrián could only parry down low. In the 29' it was 1-0: a ball to Dani Raba, who beat Natan at speed, faced Adrián and managed to beat him with a cross shot that put Leganés ahead with his fourth goal so far in the championship.
Lega defended with order against the attacks from Betis, led by Isco from the midfield and Abde and Antony from the wings. The Brazilian tried his luck in the 42‘ with a cross-shot that didn't find the Blue and Whites’ goal. But it was Lega who doubled their lead just before the break: Juan Cruz broke down the right flank, put the ball into the heart of the area and again Raba, with a first-time shot, beat Adrián to make it 2-0 and send the almost 11,700 spectators in the stands at Butarque into a frenzy. Lega went into the break with the lead.
Isco, from the penalty spot, Bakambu and Cucho Hernández came from behind for Betis
The second half started in the same vein, with Lega making their first substitution in the 60', with Miguel de la Fuente coming on in place of the injured Dani Raba. In the first 63 minutes, Real Betis pulled one back through Isco from the penalty spot after an unfortunate action between Dmitrovic and Bakambu. In the 68', Miguel managed to score, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Shortly after, Dmitrovic himself saved the 2-2 with a great intervention.
Entering the last quarter of an hour, Óscar replaced Neyou, also with physical problems, shortly before Betis equalised through Bakambu, who took advantage of a rebound to head home and make it 2-2. Five minutes later, the visitors completed their comeback thanks to a goal from Cucho Hernández on a counter-attack. Chicco, Duk and Munir came on for the equaliser, which was headed in by Miguel, who failed to find the target with a header.
Leganés remain on 27 points in the standings, and their next game will come after the international break, on Saturday 29th (14:00) at the Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid C.F.
