C.D. Leganés were unable to score in their visit to Real Madrid C.F. at the Santiago Bernabéu (3-2). Diego García and Raba scored the goals, while Mbappé, twice (one of them from a non-existent penalty) and Bellingham scored for the whites in a match marked by refereeing decisions.
Leganés came out with two changes to their line-up compared to last time out, with Óscar Rodríguez and Diego García coming into the starting line-up in place of Seydouba Cissé and Darko Brasanac, who started the game on the bench. Los Pepineros started with a back four, with Tapia alongside Neyou in midfield, with Juan Cruz and Óscar on the flanks and Raba behind Diego, who was the more advanced player.
The first shot of the match came from Neyou, who shot high from the front in the 9' after a good move between Raba and Rosier. Real Madrid had their first chance when Modric's shot was blocked by Dmitrovic, and then Sergio saved a dangerous shot from Bellingham in the box. The captain was again providential in the 22' when he headed Modric's goal-bound shot wide. In the 25' it was Dmitrovic who turned Mbappé's left-footed shot behind for a corner with a great save.
Mbappé, from a non-existent penalty, gave Real Madrid the lead, but Diego and Raba pulled one back before the break
In the 30', González Fuertes awarded a penalty after a very doubtful action in the Real Madrid area for an supposed foul by Óscar on Arda Güler, which Mbappé converted to make it 1-0. Lega reacted quickly, however, and equalised in the next action after a cross: Rosier went deep down the right, put it behind, Raba took a touch and Diego finished it off to beat Lunin and make it 1-1 with his third goal in this LALIGA EA SPORTS.
In the 40', Lega were to take the lead: Rosier advanced and passed to Óscar, who went into the box and put the ball back for Dani Raba, who finished with his left foot to make it 1-2 and give Leganés the lead at the Bernabéu. Leganés went in at half-time with the lead.
Bellingham equalised and Mbappé, after another non-existent foul in front of goal and a possible penalty on Diego that was not awarded, gave the whites the lead.
The second half started with no changes, with Real Madrid equalising in the 47' through Bellingham, who took advantage of a rebound in the box to make it 2-2 in the first dangerous opportunity after the half-time break. Lega claimed a penalty in the first 49' after Diego García went down when trying to finish off an assist from Raba, but neither González Fuertes nor the VAR considered the contact inside the area to be sufficient.
In the 53’ Real Madrid almost took the lead again when Brahim's shot came back off the post. In the first 65' Borja Jiménez made his first change, bringing on Cissé in place of Neyou in midfield to provide fresh legs for the team, who defended with order against the white attacks after Rodrygo and Vinicius entered the game. In the 75' Real Madrid took the lead with a goal from Mbappé preceded by a non-existent foul on Tapia, which ended up making it 3-2 for the home side.
Another fall in the area by the debutant Diomande in the extra time completed the accumulation of refereeing decisions
In the 82' Munir replaced Diego in attack in the second Pepinero substitution in search of an equaliser in the final minutes. Juan Cruz had a chance in the 83rd minute, but his shot went just wide and Lunin made a good save. And in the 85' Darko, Miguel and debutant Yan Diomande, a home-grown Ivorian, came on for Tapia, Raba and Juan Cruz in the last Puebla substitutions. Munir had a chance with a header in the 87', but his shot missed the target by just a little.
In the extra time, there was still time for debutant Diomande to go down in the area in an action with Asencio that González Fuertes and the VAR again ruled as not punishable. Despite the effort and trying until the last action, Leganés failed to score at the Santiago Bernabéu and remain on 27 points in the table. Their next game is on Monday 7th of April (21:00) at Butarque against Osasuna.
