C.D. Leganés earned a point in their match against F.C. Cartagena at the Estadio Municipal Butarque, in a match of the thirty-third day of LALIGA HYPERMOTION (0-0). In a close match with few chances, the pepineros could not break down the visiting wall and had to settle for a draw.
Leganés came out with three changes in their lineup compared to the last match in Vila-real, with Arambarri replacing the suspended Sergio González in the center of the defense, Neyou for Brasanac in midfield, and Raba for Diego García in attack. The match kicked off with the first chance in minute 3 for Leganés, with Jorge Sáenz heading in a corner kick by Portillo.
Miguel had the next chance in minute 24, after a great slate action in which Raba assisted the '9', but Raúl Lizoain saved his shot with his foot. The first for Cartagena came in 34', with a left-footed shot from Andy that crashed against the crossbar of Diego Conde's goal. Calero then tried his luck in minute 44, but the goalkeeper of the Pepinero team sent the ball to a corner. With no more chances, in an intense but lackluster first half, the game went to the break.
A close game with no great chances
The second half started without changes, with Lega trying to surprise the strong defense of Cartagena, who hardly left any options to the pepineros. Neyou tried in 58' from the front, but Lizoain blocked without problems. In minute 66, Borja Jiménez made his first substitution, bringing on Diego García in place of Raba up front. The Blue and Whites continued to insist on attacking the Black and Whites' backline, but without finding any loopholes.
Entering the last quarter of an hour, Cissé replaced Nyom in search of more presence in midfield. Cartagena warned again with a long-range shot from Musto that crashed against the crossbar, and then Diego Conde took out Ortuño's rebound with his legs, although the latter was annulled for offside of the striker. In the 86th minute, Djouahra replaced an exhausted Juan Cruz in Borja Jiménez's last substitution. Lega tried in extra time, but this time the goal didn't come and the match ended in a draw.
Leganés will continue as leaders for another day, reaching sixty points and their next match will take place on Sunday, April 7 (14:00) at El Alcoraz against S.D. Huesca.
