C.D. Leganés earned a point on their return to LALIGA EA SPORTS four years later (1-1). The pepineros took the lead at El Sadar with a goal from Juan Cruz in the first half, but Aimar Oroz equalised for Osasuna in the second half.
Leganés began the new season on their return to the First Division with three new faces in their first line-up: Juan Soriano in goal, Javi Hernández, after returning from two loan spells, in the centre of defence, and Rosier on the right wing. The game began with a move in the 1st minute that ended in a goal by Rosier, but was disallowed for offside by Miguel. In the 9th minute it was Javi Hernández who tried a free kick that went just wide of Sergio Herrera's left-hand post.
Juan Cruz, after a great assist from Javi Hernández, put Leganés ahead in a great first half.
A good start from Lega against Osasuna, who tried to take control of the game with a first shot from Rubén García in the 12th minute. But once again, the Pepineros were on the verge of taking the lead in the 15th minute with a double chance from Miguel that was saved first by Herrera and then by Torró under the posts. A good start was to be rewarded in the 22nd minute with the 0-1: a great pass behind the defence by Javi Hernández and Juan Cruz, with his left foot, crossed the ball in front of Herrera to put Borja Jiménez's team ahead.
Leganés continued in the same vein as in the first half, with Miguel de la Fuente as the main man to receive with his back to the ball and turn. Osasuna were looking to create danger behind the Pabellon defence, but the three centre-backs were safe. With no more dangerous approaches to the goal, and with the joy of the five hundred pepineros present at El Sadar, it was time for half-time.
Javi Hernández and Brasanac could have made it 0-2 in the second half, but Sergio Herrera was on hand to prevent it.
With no changes for Leganés, the second half kicked off with another chance from Javi Hernández that Herrera turned behind for a corner. The Navarrese responded by pressing higher, spurred on by the crowd at El Sadar. In the 57th minute, Budimir forced Juan Soriano to intervene, as he did against Catena in the subsequent corner. In the 63rd minute, Borja Jiménez made his first change, bringing on Dani Raba in place of the injured Juan Cruz.
Brasanac had the chance to make it 2-0 in the 69th minute, but Herrera saved a one-on-one with his right foot after another Javi Hernández assist for the Serbian. Osasuna responded with a right-footed shot from Bryan that was incredibly well saved by Sergio with his body just as the goal was about to be scored. In the 73rd minute, Lega made their second change, introducing Chicco in midfield to replace Cissé.
Aimar Oroz equalised in the 80th minute, but Lega resisted the Reds' push and ended up scoring.
Lega tried to resist the Reds' push, but in the 80th minute Aimar's shot hit the post and went into the goal after touching Juan Soriano. It was the equaliser for the Navarran side, who went on the attack in search of a comeback. The Sevillian goalkeeper prevented Osasuna's second after touching a right-footed shot from Bryan that ended up crashing against the post after a spectacular handball by Juan. In the 87th minute, Lega made their final substitutions, bringing on Diego García and debutants Renato Tapia and Roberto López to give the team some oxygen for the final stretch.
Lega resisted Osasuna's final push in stoppage time and finally secured a point on the day of their return to LALIGA EA SPORTS. The team's enormous effort was rewarded with a draw, which is the first point of the new season. Next Sunday (19:00) will be the first home game against U.D. Las Palmas.C.D.
