C.D. Leganés and Miguel de la Fuente have donated to the ‘LEGENDS Museum: The Home of Football’ a unique piece: the shirt and boots with which our striker scored the first goal in the match that meant the promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS against Elche C.F. on the 2nd of June 2024.
This valuable relic will be exhibited in the LEGENDS hall, in the ‘Relic of the month’ space. With their recent return to the elite of Spanish football, the handing over of these valuable objects symbolises part of the rich history of the Pepinero team. Miguel, known for his goalscoring ability and tireless work on the pitch, was one of the key players in the team's promotion to the First Division. His dedication and effort were reflected in that historic season, becoming one of the most representative figures of the team.
The ‘9’ recognised that it is ‘a privilege to hand over these pieces to LEGENDS, a museum that celebrates the history of world football. I hope that these objects continue to inspire young footballers and fans to remember what it means to fight to achieve a dream’. During the handover ceremony, held on Wednesday 27 November, Laura Valdeolivas, CEO of LEGENDS, said: ‘It is an honour to have pieces such as Miguel's shirt and boots, which reflect his effort and dedication. This delivery is a recognition of his great season and his contribution to Leganés‘ return to LALIGA EA SPORTS’.
LEGENDS, The Home of Football, houses one of the most comprehensive collections of football memorabilia in the world, with more than 5,000 items. The collection includes historical objects from international and national competitions, such as UEFA, FIFA, CONMEBOL, Olympic Games and LALIGA, among others. And, from now on, Lega is part of it.
