C.D. Leganes and Sergio Gonzalez will remain together for 2024/25 season

The captain will continue as a Pepinero after extending his contract.

C.D. Leganés and its captain, Sergio González Poirrier, will continue together in the next 2024/25 season after automatically extending their relationship for one more season for matches played last season. The 32-year-old center-back from Madrid will defend the Blue and Whites' jersey for the fifth consecutive year, the first in LALIGA EA SPORTS.

Leganés has secured the participation of its captain in its return to the First Division four seasons later. Precisely, Sergio was the club's first signing after relegation in 2020, and since then he has been becoming one of the team's and the fans' reference points, gaining in importance every year and having already reached the figure of 126 official games with Lega, in which he has scored ten goals, six of them in the last course key to achieving promotion.

Sergio arrived at Butarque from Mirandés, where he played for two seasons. Previously he had played for Recreativo de Huelva, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Alcorcón 'B', Villaviciosa de Odón or Las Rozas after playing for Real Madrid's Juvenil 'A'. Now, based on hard work and perseverance, he will make his debut in the First Division with Leganés, captaining the team in its return to the top flight.

We are still together, captain!
