C.D. Leganés to pay tribute to Javi Eraso before the match against Athletic Club

The Navarrese, a former member of both teams, will take the ceremonial kick-off after officially retiring this past summer.

C.D. Leganés will pay tribute to Javier Eraso before the match against Athletic Club at Butarque this Thursday (19:00). The player from Navarre, a former member of both teams, will take the ceremonial kick-off after making his retirement from football official last summer.

At 34 years of age, Eraso announced this summer that he was hanging up his cleats after a long career in our football. Trained in Athletic's youth ranks, he arrived at Butarque in 2013 from the red and white reserve team, achieving promotion to the Second Division in his first season and making his debut in the silver category in the second.

His good performances earned him a return to Athletic, with whom he played two seasons in the First Division, making 45 official appearances and winning the Spanish Super Cup in 2015. In 2017 he returned to Leganés, where he remained for another five seasons, ending his time at Butarque with 215 official appearances and as one of the ten players with the most appearances in the club's history.

After a season with Cypriot club Akritas Chlorakas and another with S.D. Amorebieta, Eraso put an end to his time as a footballer, and this Thursday, on the occasion of the match between the two teams that have marked his professional career, he will receive the affection and recognition of both clubs and both fans.
